Internet Explorer was created in 1995 and is installed by default on every Windows computer. By the year 2000 over 95% of all web browsing was done through this browser, after all, if it’s already on your computer why use anything else? Since then the popularity of this browser has fallen considerably with just over 10% of web users browsing through Internet Explorer. If you are one of those users, consider these reasons to switch to a new browser.

INTERNET EXPLORER IS A SECURITY RISK.

Hackers and malicious software creators love this browser. Internet Explorer has a long history of vulnerabilities and security weaknesses that make it easy to exploit and to steal user’s information.
Microsoft still releases security patches, but they are often months behind, giving hackers plenty of time to steal your data.

WEBSITES WON’T LOAD CORRECTLY

Internet Explorer is not compatible with many of the fancy new features that web developers are putting in their websites. As a result you may see websites without videos, with incorrectly placed text or many other glitches frequently seen on this browser.

INTERNET EXPLORER IS VERY SLOW

Nothing is more frustrating than a website that takes ages to load, but it may not be the website’s fault. Internet Explorer has not received a speed upgrade since Microsoft launched their Edge browser. In addition, Internet Explorer does not always shut down tabs and web pages correctly so it tends to get slower the longer you have it open.

MICROSOFT DOESN’T WANT YOU TO USE IT ANYMORE

Have you noticed when you first open IE on a new computer a popup tells you to use Edge instead? Microsoft actually published an official article titled “The perils of using Internet Explorer as your default browser”. Microsoft has moved onto a new browser and maybe you should too.
